This collection contains photographs, scrapbooks, and other material that originated from the United States Department of Agriculture Date Station in Indio, California. The University of California and the Citrus Experiment Station were involved with the research conducted at this site. Material includes photographs of date palms in California, North Africa, and Iraq; photographs illustrating the cultivation of palm varieties and palm diseases; scrapbook compiled by Walter Tennyson on date palms, tropical fruits, and citrus in California and the Middle East.
