The collection consists of a series of sports clipping books covering different local Anchorage sports, including those of the high schools, the University of Alaska Anchorage, and professional teams (The Anchorage Aces hockey team). The collection is divided into three parts: high school sports, University of Alaska Anchorage sports, and professional sports, etc. The high school sports covered include: Legion and high school baseball, boys' basketball (AAAA), girls' basketball (AAAA), basketball (boys' and girls', A to AAA), cross-country running (boys' and girls'), cross-country skiing (boys' and girls'), football (boys'), gymnastics (girls'), hockey (boys'), riflery (boys' and girls'), soccer (boys' and girls'), softball (girls'), swimming (boys' and girls'), tennis (boys' and girls'), track (boys' and girls'), volleyball (girls'), and wrestling (boys'). The part on high school sports also contains a series entitled "Senior, Etc." University of Alaska Anchorage sports covered included men's basketball, men's hockey, women's basketball, women's gymnastics, and women's volleyball. The part on professional sports, etc. includes a series on the Anchorage Aces hockey team and a series of articles on local hockey facilities entitled "The Puck Stops Here." The clippings books for each sport are arranged chronologically by season. The bulk of the clippings cover the period 1987-2000.
