Cleveland presents herself to Winter as the cousin of Mr. Grover Cleveland and of Col. Thomas Wentworth Higginson; refers to her work, The scarlet-veined and other poems. Asks Winter to introduce her to Ada Rehan. Addressed to Winter at the Tribune, New York City. On letterhead of the Hotel Gerard. Year of letter from pencil annotation. With a printed visiting card of Miss Lucy Cleveland, annotated with "Hotel Gerard."
