Gustaf A. Nelson scrapbook, 1915-1924.

The collection consists of Gustaf A. Nelson's Norwich University scrapbook or "memory book," of photographs and Norwich memorabilia. Topics of interest within the scrapbook include athletics, a football injury he sustained on 13 September 1915, World War I, First Squadron of the First Vermont Cavalry, the Mexican border crisis of 1916, a recruiting station for the 1st Vermont Infantry in Bennington, VT, correspondence with friends, and Norwich social events. Also included is Nelson's B. A. degree as well as photographs and biographical information on Gus Nelson.

Gustaf "Gus" Nelson of Northfield, VT, received a B. A. degree from Norwich University. He was originally from Indian Orchard, MA. Gus Nelson entered Norwich in September 1915 as a member of the class of 1919, but his education was interrupted by World War I. He returned to Norwich after the war and graduated with the class of 1924.
