Robert and Wilma Knox came to Anchorage in 1951. While living in Alaska, Robert G. Knox held the positions of reporter/photographer and later managing editor of the Anchorage Daily News (1951-1954), owner and operator of the Book Cache retail bookstore (1954-1956), Chief of Technical Liaison for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Alaska District (1956-1960), managing editor of the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner (1961), city and business editor of the Anchorage Times (1961-1967), publisher and editor ...

Wilma and Robert Knox lived in Alaska from 1951-1984. The couple worked as photo journalists; she was a free-lance photographer and he worked for newspapers in Anchorage and Fairbanks. The couple traveled extensively in Alaska and wrote "All About Camping in Alaska and the Yukon." They retired to Wyoming in 1984.
