Papers of Joseph L. Vaughan, 1935-1975, 1996.

The collection consists of a miscellaneous group of papers concerning Vaughan, his wife Ann Doner Vaughan, and their years at the University of Virginia. These include letters of Dumas Malone and Bus Male ;University historical information; and material regarding the Engineering School and honors received by Vaughan. The collection also contains Kappa Delta Sorority correspondence of Ann Vaughan and other miscellaney. Photographs include one of the U.S.S. Laffey, 1945. Other miscellaneous photographs pertaining to the University of Virginia include Johnnie Larowe, Dr. H.S. Hedges, John Lloyd Newcomb, W.S. Rodman, John Cook Wyllie with Gertrude Stein, "Uncle Albert" the janitor; trailers on Copley Hill, construction of Alderman Library, Easters in 1935 and the gravesite of Wiliam Mynn Thornton. Miscellaneous items include invitations, tickets, bookmarks, cards, song lyrics, prayers, and poems.
