Material includes papers of the Mad River and Lake Erie Railroad Company (1830-1863) which contain correspondence, account and expense book, petition, receipt and reimbursement summaries. Includes material relating to John H. James during his tenure as treasurer and president of the railroad. Collection also includes papers of the Mansfield and Sandusky City Railroad Company which pertain to business conducted between the railroad and the J. P. Veeder Company between 1836 and 1848.
