Mexican War muster rolls and orders, 1845-1846.

Mexican Army records, 1845-1846, captured with the baggage of General Mariano Arista at the battle of Resaca de la Palma, May 9, 1846. They include muster rolls for infantry, cavalry, sappers, artillery, and coastguard units; most are dated May 4, 1846, a few days before the battle, and the location is usually given as Palo Alto or Matamoros. An orderly book contains general orders for the Army of the North, January 1, 1845 - May 7-8, 1846. There are also a few other miscellaneous papers, including a diary of the activities of the Compania presidial de Aguaverde for March 1846, and a draft report by Arista to the Minister of War, dated May 7, 1846.
