Records, 1862-1865. The collection consists mainly of muster rolls, but there also some vouchers and allotment rolls, and some other miscellaneous papers. These include a military pass, but most are receipts and routine correspondence addressed to Levi C. Ball and dealing with soldiers' pay; one letter encloses a duplicate check. A few documents pertain to the 125th New York Regiment.

Levi Chandler Ball was for many years a prominent Federalist of Hoosick Falls. Born in Vermont in 1809, at the age of 14 came to Hoosick Falls and remained in the family of Seth Parsons. From 1833, Ball was closely identified with the affairs of the town of Hoosick Falls as well as those of Rensselaer County.
