Northern Army War of 1812 collection, 1813-1815.

Collection of papers related to the provisioning of the U.S Army in northern New York State by New York merchants and army contractors from 1813-1815. The collection consists of about 30 letters dealing with acquisition or delivery of provisions; abstracts of commuted rations; about 60 receipts for provisions delived to Army units; abstracts of provisions; contracts; and about 150 notes ordering Isaiah Townsend of Albany to pay various persons for services, etc. The names which appear most often are Isaiah Townsend, James Tracy, Elbert Anderson, William D. Cheever, Timothy Burr, Nathaniel Allen, and James Thorn.
