Heiser's daughter Maria S. Heiser, as well as other members of the Heiser family, and the estate of Thomas Thomas, who was the father of Isabell M. Thomas, the wife of Charles L. Heiser. Heiser & French, Christopher Heiser's partnership with Philip French, which was dissolved in 1854, managed Castle Garden, and a good many documents deal with the partnership's affairs. There is a diary which Christopher Heiser kept during a trip to England and France in 1851, and personal letters between him and Charles L. Heiser. Charles L. Heiser also kept a diary, during a trip to Europe in 1844 and 1845, and he wrote a substantial group of letters to his father from San Francisco btween 1849 and 1853. Other miscellaneous papers include Christopher Heiser's certification as a New York City firefighter in 1814 and 1818; Charles L. Heiser's certification as a firefighter in San Francisco, 1851; and a leaf from a family Bible, with genealogical information in German, apparently written by Heinrich Heiser and his father, Heinrich Anton Heiser.
