Records, 1841-1845. The Lyceum's directors included Theodore Frelinghuysen, Lewis G. Forman, Isaac T. Smith, John H. Griscom, and Albert G. Zabriskie. John S. Salisbury was treasurer. One volume contains names and addresses of members, with a record of who introduced them. Another contains minutes of the directors' meetings, which discuss invitations to lecturers and management of the library, as well as routine business. A third volume contains the treasurer's accounts. A few peieces of printed ephemera produced by the Lyceum are pasted or laid into this volume.

John Hoskins Griscom received his M.D. Degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1832. Following graduation he was appointed Assistant Physician of the New York Dispensary, becoming physician in 1834. From 1836 to 1840 he held the position of Professor of Chemistry at the New York College of Pharmacy.
