Notebooks, 1860-1863.

Notebooks, 1860-1863. Much of the material seems to be notes for school or college work. One volume is a synopsis of English literature to 1859; another, a synopsis of French literature to 1859, also includes extracts from Eckermann's Conversations with Goethe, a few copies of poems in English, and some miscellaneous accounts and receipts of Charlotte H. Abbe of Windham (Ct.) and Willamantic (Ct.). Another volume contains notes on world history, and the last contains copies of poems in English. Longfellow and Felicia Hemans dominate the selection. A few clippings containing poems are laid into the poem volumes.
