Receipt book, 1801-1856, kept by Judith Verplanck and other members of the Verplanck family. Records kept in Judith Verplanck's lifetime are dated New York, and include a receipt for state and corporation tax on the family's house at 15 Wall Street, and a tipped-in receipt from James Tillary for medical services to Judith Verplanck. Later receipts are dated Fishkill and Fishkill Landing; they are signed by Judith's son, Daniel Crommelin Verplanck, his second wife, Anne Walton Verplanck, his son, Gulian Crommelin Verplanck, and his daughter, Mary Anna Verplanck. Many of the later receipts are for servants' wages.
