British artillery commissary's issues and receipts book, November 1776-September 1779, kept in New England and perhaps elsewhere, including many records of issues during the siege of Newport, Rhode Island in 1778. Many of the items listed were recceived from Commissary John Grant of the Boston stores, and were issued to various British and Hessian regiments, ships, the "musquet laboratory", and to Walter Chaloner and George Leonard "for refugees". The supplies included carpenter's and wheeler's tools, tents, tin tubes, swords, mortars, ordnance accessories, gun parts, powder, rope, nails, etc.
