Letterbook, 1813 Oct. 30-1817 Jan. 3, of Hubbard, Greene & Co., a New York City firm involved in shipping and wholesale commerce. Includes copies of outgoing correspondence on such subjects as accounts and bills for various cargo such as indigo, sugar, cotton, and rum; dispatch and sales of vessels; customer complaints; and dealings with agents and consignees in various United States and European ports. Includes index. Of additional note are the presence of numerous children's pencil drawings on the preliminary pages of the index and the unused pages at the end of the volume. A number of drawings depict figures labelled with the names of family members and signed by Francis G. Haskins and David G. Haskins, Jr., of Massachusetts, and dated 1859 and 1860.
