Harlem papers, 1660-1879 (bulk [before 1800]).

Deeds, wills, indentures, voorlezer's lists, accounts, receipts, releases, inventories, transcripts, instructions from the mayor of New York, and other legal papers concerning the early history and families of Harlem, New York (1660-1879, bulk before 1800). Most pertain to members of the Adriance family, especially Isaac Adriance, or members of the Waldron family. In addition there are papers related to the Benson family, Rachel McCoy, and four deeds signed by Peter Stuyvesant. Many of the Dutch documents have been translated. The collection also includes ca. 400 p. of transcripts of miscellaneous Harlem records, mostly from the period 1661-1725.
