Notebooks, [ca. 1900].

Notebooks kept by Hoes on historical topics (ca. 1900). Two notebooks contain copies of selected letters from the archives of the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts, dating from the early 1700s, and chiefly concern missionary work with Native Americans and African Americans, both slaves and free. The third notebook contains copies of articles, bibliographic citations, and notes on various historical topices, most related to church history, genealogy, or local history.
