Brodhead's 1841 translation of chapters 7 and 9-11 of de Laet's Nieuwe Wereldt, from the original Dutch (Tot Leyden: By de Elzeviers, 1630). These selections describe the coastline around the New Netherland colony in extensive detail from Massachusetts to Chesapeake Bay, mentioning the Indian tribes that inhabited these lands; also includes a similarly detailed description of the Hudson River and recounts Henry Hudson's meetings with the Native Americans living along its banks.
