Account book, 1834-1844, including accounts receivable, bills payable, cash expenses, receipts, and special accounts, all relating to real estate transactions in Brooklyn, Manhattan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and perhaps elsewhere, trade adventures, financial transactions, etc. Many are accounts with his son, George W. Bruen, John H. Smith, and T. M. Beare. Undoubtedly some of the transactions pertain to property entrusted to him as assignee of Thomas H. Smith, who died in 1828.
