Diary and miscellaneous papers concerning New York water supply, 1830-1833, 1835-1847.

The collection consists of a notebook diary entitled "Travel to Saratoga and House of Refuge," and memorials and letters from John L. Sullivan and Levi Disbrow to the Mayor, Water Commissioners, and the Common Council on issues relating to sources of water supply. The diary contains a short account of travels from Troy to Lebanon Springs touching on interesting visit to Shaker Village and church, etc. It also mentions the purchase of the House of Refuge from the U.S. government.
