The filibuster [collection] [microform] : a comic opera / book and lyrics by John P. Wilson ; music by William Loraine. 1905.

Arranged in three groups: I. Scores (1 in 3 vols.). II. Vocal scores (8). III. Promptbooks (4). This show apparently played in Chicago under the title "The filibuster," but was known in New York as "The press agent," and a subsequent two-act version was titled "A tropical romance" (Cf. Bordman, American Musical Theater). Materials for "The filibuster" include a manuscript full score in three volumes, each corresponding to a single act and consisting of separate unbound numbers. There are also five copies of the vocal score published by Witmark (New York, c1905) and three typescript promptbooks. Materials for "A tropical romance" include a single typed promptbook, which additionally attributes text to Mark E. Swan, and three vocal scores, all of which are based on the Witmark vocal score of "The filibuster, " which also contain numerous performance cuts and alternate manuscript music bound in. Two copies are additionally annotated as conductor's scores. The third is a stage manager's guide.
