Augusto Borselli papers, 1916-1968.

The Augusto Borselli Papers include scrapbooks, correspondence, photographs, clippings, notes, official documents, reports, pamphlets, brochures, business cards, certificates, postcards, an academic diploma for his doctoral degree from the University of Naples, academic course materials, and a poster advertising the translation of excerpts from the Count Ciano Diaries in the Chicago Daily News. Most of this material is in English and Italian, but some items are in the Polish or Lithuanian languages. Some of the scrapbooks originally received by the university have been partially disassembled for preservation purposes and the following published books have been reassigned to the Rare Books section of the Special Collections Department: 1) Dulles, Foster Rhea. Augusto Borselli was born on October 25, 1891 in Naples, Italy, to a prominent family of lawyers and educators. He studied at the Universities of Bologna and Naples, earning a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the latter institution. Borselli also earned the equivalent of an American doctoral degree in the Humanities with four years of advanced work in literature and philosophy.
