Robert Penn Warren letters and other materials, 1947-1983.

The collection consists of five items, including: letter to Jon Carroll, 6 July 1963, answering questions and giving advice on writing; letter to Mr. Glossinger, 30 July 1983, about the sources for his book World Enough and time; Dream of a dream, an unpublished poem printed by G.K. Hall as their 1976 Christmas card. Also, two dramatic versions of Warren's novel, All the King's Men, circa 1947, one for the Illinois Theatre Guild, the other for Ohio State University. The versions are similar, if not identical, and appear to be based on the 1947 production written by Warren with Erwin Piscator.

Robert Penn Warren (1905-1989), first poet laureate of the United States, was a poet, writer of fiction, and co-author with Cleanth Brooks of influential textbooks on literature.
