Circle K International (CKI) is a subdivision of the Kiwanis Club with college students as members, whom strive to serve the community via service-based projects and fundraisers. The Ohio University (OU) chapter of CKI was originally chartered in December of 1953 and was sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Athens. It was the 66th club in CKI with its Charter Number being 66. The first Kiwanis club was organized in Detroit, Michigan in 1915. In 1924 a constitution was adopted defining the organization as a community service organization for men.
