The bulk of the collection consists of material from the Central board including meeting minutes and agendas, committee reports (Finance, Personnel, Housing, School-Community Relations, Curriculum, Legislative, Desegregation), reports of related community organizations, plans for desegregation and decentralization, including court orders, material on student testing, special programs, employee relations, enrollment, etc. and board publications such as: Communicator (1974-1977); Directline (1979-1981); Facts about Detroit schools (1971-1974); Pipeline (1971-1978, 1980); Reporter (1974-1978), Principal's notes (Nov. 1973-May 1976); Schools in the news (1975-1977). Material from the regional boards covers some of the same topics as the Central board, along with correspondence and minutes from Regions 5, 6 and 7.
