[Military commission certificates for Jonathan C. Rich, 1831, 1837].

First document is a commission as lieutenant of a company of light infantry annexed to the 3rd regiment, 1st brigade, 4th division, 1st September 1831. Document is signed by Secretary Edward Bangs and Governor Levi Lincoln. Verso has note signed by William Baldwin on 8 September 1837 that Rich took the required oaths and declarations. Second document is a commission as captain of a company of light infantry in the regiment of light infantry, 1st brigade, 4th division. Document is signed by Secretary John P. Bigelow and governor Edward Everett. Verso has note signed by Edward Parsons on 31 August 1837 that Rich took the required oaths and declarations. Third document is a note from Edward Parsons dated West Springfield Aug 27 1836 ordering the members of the light infantry to assemble to choose a new Captain.
