At the closing of the Seton Hospital, an opportunity developed for a new use for the 15 acre property which has become surrounded by large apartment houses. Strong community support advocated the creation of a parkland. Files include correspondence with Robert Moses, community organizations and leaders, maps, blueprints, petitions, newspaper articles, minutes, and Board of Estimate hearings.
