Green room, Boston Museum [graphic] / N.L. Stebbins, Photo. 1886.

An 1886 photograph of the Green Room in the old Boston Museum located on Tremont Street in Boston, Mass. The room is equipped with a piano, a small table, and a wall bench. A large mirror, a clock, and three portraits hang on the wall. Two of the portraits have been identified as William Henry Smith (née Sedley), the first Stage Manager of the Boston Museum, and E.F. Keach, the second stage manager. The Green Room, so called because the walls and upholstery were green, was used as a gathering place for the actors when they were not on stage.
