The collection consists of 33 letters by Wells, a holograph note by Wells on a typescript of The Magic Shop, and a letter from Marjorie Wells concerning the typescript. The Wells letters to S.P.B. Mais, R.D. Blumenfeld, Gerald Gould, F.A.S. Russell, and Emily Balch, and others include comments on his publications, the writings of others, and brief references to the Fabians and socialism. A letter to Canon Deane mentions Ezra Pound, and another to the Evening Standard concerns an attack on Wells by Henry Arthur Jones.
