Sir Malcolm Sargent letter and check received from H.J. Sharman, 1955.

The collection contains an autographed letter, signed and dated 9 March 1955, from H.J. Sharman of Herne Bay, Kent, to Sir Malcolm Sargent of the BBC thanking him for his musical broadcasts on the Children's Hour. Sharman's letter refers to music--ballads from the Bunting Collection--that he is sending to Sargent in hopes that they might be "curiosities to the rising generation." Also contained in the collection is an uncashed 10 shilling note sent with the letter for the disposition of the music.
