Whole plate ivorytype in leather case of Louise Gordon, a friend of the Cummings family of Roxbury, Mass. The ivorytype was created ca. 1865-1870 by an unknown artist. It was made from two hand-colored albumen photographs (one waxed to the glass and made translucent and one attached to the back of the glass) that were originally created from a daguerreotype of Gordon taken ca. 1848-1850. Enclosed is a note that identifies the subject.
