Authorized under Section 8 of the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act, the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act, the NAGPRA Review Committee was established on August 2, 1991. The Review Committee's purpose is to monitor and review implementation of required inventory and identification process and repatriation activities. Includes minutes and a variety of information distributed to members of the Review Committee during meetings in 1992-1993. Also includes correspondence; a 1992 draft report to Congress; a reprint of the native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act from the Federal Register; statements before the subcommittee on the Interior of the Committee on Appropriations, U.S. House of Representatives on March 24, 1993; procedures of the U.S. Dept. of the Interior on complying with the Act; and general information on developing mediation skills.
