Includes accounts, 1833-1849, concerning bonds, candles and ribbon; and account books,1821-1847, concerning, in part, the operation of a tavern at Charlotte Court House, Va., the sale of "Dismal Swamp Lottery" tickets, and the administration of various estates. Also, include account book, 1853-1863, concerning farming operations of William A. Smith and John G. Smith in Charlotte County, Va.; accounts, 1862-1863, of John G. Smith concerning bonds; and fire insurance policies, 1862-1863, issued by the Insurance Company of the State of Virginia, Richmond, Va., to John G. Smith (covering property in Charlotte County, Va.) and a store building owned by Smith & Co. of Charlotte Court House, Va.
