Typed letter signed : St. Helena, California, to David Pleydell-Bouverie, 1970 June 2.

Thanking him for sorrel and noting that she plans to use it in two soups; discussing his suggestion that she might want to live on the Ranch (Pleydell-Bouverie's estate); saying that she feels drawn to Provence, though she has "an innate aversion to becoming a doddery ex-patriate," and Sonoma [where Pleydell-Bouverie lives]; telling him that she would like to "help with anything [she] can, at least financially," and "would come to the Ranch tomorrow ... if the house were ready"; apologizing for not being able to find a magazine she wants to show him; mentioning that she may have to refuse a marriage proposal; thanking him for being a "dear friend" and noting that "life seems much more exciting and even important since we met."
