General description of the collection: The James S. Sweet papers include a partial account written by Technical Sergeant Milton Lehman, CONAD Supply Headquarters, describing the planning and supply for the 15 August 1944 invasion of Southern France. The plans emphasize improvements that have been made unloading ships, the marking of ships to facilitate quick assignment shifts, and turning otherwise assigned soldiers and vehicles into supply drivers and transports.
