Records of the College of Nursing, 1956-1987.

Series 10 contains administrative records of the Dean of the College of Nursing beginning with the administration of the first dean, Dorothy Smith. The series contains records related to the inception and early history of the College of Nursing at the University of Florida. Record types include correspondence, faculty memoranda, and minutes. The latter include minutes of faculty meetings as well as minutes of the Curriculum Committee, and the Nursing Policy Board. There is considerable documentation on the College's 25th anniversary celebration in 1981 in Series 10b. Also evident are records related to the teaching philosophy of the college and the effect of that philosophy on the organization of the college. Speeches and lectures given by Dean Smith and several other faculty members are also found.
