Subgroup 1, Papers 1881-1990 (bulk 1881-1936) contains four series. Series 1, Correspondence, 1904-1936, contains mostly correspondence between family members. The bulk of these correspondence is between C.J. Jones and his youngest daughter Olive Jones Whitmer; contains letters between Olive Jones Whitmer, family members and her father's business partners. There are several letters between C.J. Jones, his business partners and others including James Wilson, United States Secretary of Agriculture, John A. Dix, Governor of New York, and Charles Goodnight. Series II, Publications, 1907-1990 (bulk 1907-1926) contains articles regarding C.J. Jones (some photocopies); broadsides and other advertising publications; an old Yellowstone National Park brochure, nd.; and a report of the American Bison Society, 1924-1926. Series III, Certificates, 1881-1919, contains three Stock Certificates dating between 1881-1916, and contains a photocopy of Jones' death certificate, March 18, 1919. Subgroup 2, Photographs, ca. 1872 to 1920s contains two series. Series I, Photographs, 1872-1916 contains portraits of Charles J. Jones, Jesse Jones (daughter), Buffalo Jones with Buffalo Bill Cody, and Pawnee Bill; photographs of bison herds, sheep flocks and African animal capture. Series II, Photocopies of photographs, c. 1890-1920s. Subgroup III. Scrapbook, 1890-1979 contains articles, correspondence and photographs.
