Sons of Liberty records, 1766-1770.

Records of the Sons of Liberty of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, 1766-70, include correspondence with the Sons of Liberty of Boston, Mass., Norwich, Conn. and Providence, Rhode Island; letters sent to the Boston publishers Edes and Gill; and drafts of resolutions and meeting notices. The letters discuss non-importation agreements and Great Britain's Stamp Act passed in 1765. Some letters are addressed to Josiah Bass, Richard Champney, Samuel Griffith, William Parker, Jacob Sheafe, John Sherburne, Barlow Trecothick, John Wentworth, and Thomas Young. Some letters are written in the hand of Samuel Langdon.
