Oral history interview : D'Annette Snyder Perry, Reed College, class of 1942, B.A. / interviewed by Brie Gyncild, 1991, on February 16, 2004.

Raised in Portland, Perry discusses her Reed career starting with a mountain-climbing trip to Mt. Jefferson and Breitenbush Lake. The trip started a life-long passion for hiking and mountain-climbing. She was a day-dodger, studied chemistry her first two years, then switched to French under Professor Cecilia Tenney. She attended Reed French summer camp with Madame C.L.M. Pouteau. She taught high school in Alaska, then went to medical school at the University of Oregon, becoming a pediatrician. At the age of 60, she climbed part way up Mt. Everest.
