Photographs belonging to traveler and collector Kingsmill Marrs and his wife, Laura Norcross Marrs. Loose photographs include portraits depicting various European royalty and other public figures, as well as Kingsmill and Laura Norcross Marrs in the United States and abroad and their friends Rose Elizabeth Cleveland, sister of Pres. Grover Cleveland, and novelist Julia C.R. Dorr, among others. There are also views of the Marrs family homes in Wayland, Mass. and Maitland, Fla., as well as photographs taken by Kingsmill Marrs and friend and photographer William Wilson Barker of a trip they took to Colorado and California in 1901-1902. Five volumes also contain portraits of European royalty and photographs of Italian artwork, collected by the Marrses; photographs taken by either Kingsmill Marrs or William Wilson Barker of "South Park," the Marrs family home in Wayland, Mass., as well as members of the Marrs family at home and of Jane Van Poelien Marrs's travels in Europe and Egypt; and unidentified snapshot landscape and portrait photographs taken by Kingsmill Marrs. There are also two volumes of photographs of Native Americans and their pueblos in the American Southwest, taken by California photographer A.C. (Adam Clark) Vroman and collected and bound by Kingsmill Marrs. Photographers include Kingsmill Marrs, William Wilson Barker, and Luigi Montabone (Rome and Torino, Italy), among many others. Collection includes cartes de visite, cabinet cards, tintype, photomechanical prints, and other paper-based photographs.

Adam Clark Vroman began to photograph around 1892, the same year he moved to Pasadena, California. As an amateur photographer and bookseller, Vroman traveled to the Southwest, especially New Mexico, to photograph in the American Indian pueblos.
