Photocopied Typewritten Letters. Letters written by Shumway to his family as he attended his initial training at Camp Roberts, California, and some from him while he was deployed in Europe. Shumway was considered missing in action for a few months before his parents got confirmation of his death. In his letters he speaks of the training he was receiving, the men he was with, the conditions, and of the things he missed.
