Elizabeth Hovey Johnson letterbook, 1813-1849.

Letterbook of Elizabeth (called Eliza) Hovey Johnson of Boston and Cohasset, Mass., 1813-49, includes manuscript copies of letters sent to her sister Mary Hovey Hammond of Roxbury, Mass., her nieces Matilda and Mary P. Hammond, and friend Elizabeth Lewis of Marshfield, Mass. Letters pertain to the life and death of her daughter Rebecca Eliza Johnson, a long-term illness Eliza had in 1826, faith and religion, the sickness of her sister Mary, her friendship with Elizabeth Lewis, and the activities and lives of other friends and family. Also includes a brief index.
