Correspondence of the Davis family of England and later New England, 1805-13, includes letters written and received by siblings John and Mary Davis, their sister Ann's fiance Francis Lane, and Mary's friend Maria Helms. Letters include descriptions of Ann's engagement and move with Mary to New England; sister Betsy and her husband and son's life in Dartmouth, England; John's travels, including a voyage to the Madeira Islands and Bengal, India; and brother Richard's new wife and move to India. Also includes a poem entitled 'To the Grave, ' author unknown, and a clerk envelope of a bond signed out to John Greenleaf Whittier, 1894.
