Extension Service records, 1903-2002 (bulk 1911-1995).

The Extension Service Records pertain to the administration and programmatic activities of the Oregon State University Extension Service. The records document policies and procedures, research activities, special events, and services provided to Oregonians at the state and county levels. They also document the service's relationship with the federal government and extension services in other states. Subgroup 1 consists of extension specialist and county annual reports from 1911 to 1998. Subgroup 2 consists of records of the director's office from 1903 to 2002. Major series include I. Administration; II. Associations, Agencies and Organizations; IX. Program Determination & Development; X. Projects, Extension Specialists; XIII. Reports & Statistics; and XX. Programs. Subgroup 3 includes two series: county demonstration agent reports and state leader annual reports, dating from 1915 to 1969. Subgroup 4 pertains to the state-wide administration and program development of 4-H in Oregon; the relationship between 4-H and other associations, agencies and organizations; 4-H events and activities; and 4-H awards and scholarship winners on the national and state levels. Subgroup 6 consists of program and activities records from county offices. Currently this subgroup consists of one series -- records transferred from the Lane County Extension office in 1998 due to smoke damage.
