Letter to Richard Backhouse, 1780 October 7.

Taylor, in Easton, writes to [the manager of his ironworks in Durham, Pa.?] regarding his business and farming affairs, desiring to know how his furnace and the new iron ore shaft are doing. He requests Backhouse to send a few items. He asks about Col. Tidman of the Board of War, mentions that Col. Hooper has not come and asks for the latest newspapers.

George Taylor (1716 – February 23, 1781) was a Founding Father of the United States, Colonial ironmaster, and a signer of the United States Declaration of Independence as a representative of Pennsylvania.
