Summary: Primarily photographs, mostly 1895 to the 1920s, with a small amount of biographical material. There are a few images of members of Arizona Rangers including Sparks, Jeff Kidder, and Thomas Rynning (f.2). Also present are one view of Fort Huachuca, an image of the Lone Star Saloon in Naco, and various gatherings including a masquerade or costume party, ca. 1905 (f.2). Also present are photographs of the Sparks family and friends including photographs taken by the Williams Gallery of Safford (f.5), one image of Ava Sparks with a group of Naco school children about 1908 (f.7); and a gathering at Lewis Springs, Ariz.

Biographical note: William Timberline Sparks enlisted in the Arizona Rangers in 1903 and served several terms of enlistment. He owned the Lone Star Saloon in Naco; was married and had two daughters, Evelyn (Effie) and Ava. Sparks memoirs were published as "The Apache Kid and Other Old West Stories" in 1926.
