In his six-page memoir, Dr. Anthony Harris recounts events in his life from ca. 1964 to 1977. He includes his participation and arrest in a voting rights demonstration, his role in the integration of Hattiesburg city schools, and the hosting and housing of civil rights workers, among other events.

Dr. Anthony Jerome Harris was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, in 1953. He became a civil rights activist as a teenager, participating in Freedom Summer project activities and demonstrating for voting rights in Hattiesburg.
