John G.K. Truair (1817-1889) was a partner in J.G.K. Truair and Company and the Daily Journal office in Syracuse, N.Y. George G. Truair (1842-1888), son of J.G.K. Truair, served in the Civil War with the 137th and 149th New York volunteer regiments. George C. Truair was mustered in central New York and saw action at Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, Vicksburg, and Chickamauga.
