This collection contains materials from Major General Patrick's military career. Of significant importance are two, handwritten diaries, one of which highlights Patrick's official activities as he sailed to France to command the 1st Engineers in World War I. A second diary describes Patrick's activities as Chief of Air Services for the American Expeditionary Forces in 1919. There are also numerous photographs within an album which display the start and finish of the World Flight, Seattle, 1924, and a second album containing photographs taken in France of pilots and aircraft of the first U. S. Army flight around the world.
